Harry Potter
Well, I have succumbed to the Harry Potter craze. Our friends Dave and Vi loaned us the first book, which Katie plowed through and passed along to me. I finished it over the weekend and started the second last night.
Not great literature, but very fun, entertaining reads, which is about what I look for in a book these days. Some glaringly inconsistencies in the realization of the alternate world of wizardry and magic (ie, they celebrate Christmas!?!)…but they never got in the way of my desire to see what happens on the next page. After all, one so horribly older than the book’s target audience can hardly feel justified nit-picking.
Sort of the Hardy Boys & The Hobbit all squashed into one.
