Mac OS X 10.1

I was out running errands and ran into CompUSA for a little while yesterday. I was surprised to find one of their demo “Quicksilver” G4’s had a preview release of Mac OS X 10.1 on it. I played around with it for about 15 minutes, and was impressed. It does look like Apple has really nailed the performance issues that make X such a drag. Can’t wait to get it installed on this here TiBook.

(And, yes, I also tried the other G4 running 10.0.4 for a fair comparison — it didn’t just seem fast because it was a 867 mHz G4)
