The Maryland Terps played their last game in Cole Field House yesterday ( They won big, of course ). Cole’s got a great legacy, and will be missed. I’m sure their new arena will be a nicer place to go see a game in many ways, but it won’t ever have that same rocking feel that Cole gets when the crowd is really in the game.
I went to a handful of games at Cole, it was always a great time…and it’s part of the reason I’m such a Maryland fan today. I’m sure that’s true for many others, in the same way the character of the great baseball stadiums is a big part of the teams that played in them.
