ISP

I like my ISP. I’ve been having some trouble with my DSL this week, and I actually call, don’t get put on hold, and talk to someone who knows what they are talking about 9 times out of 10.
They think this particular problem is actually Verizon’s ( the telco’s ) problem. The tech [...]

NBA draft

The NBA draft was last night…we had it on the TV off and on. It’s not really all that interesting, but I like to see where some of the college players I’ve watched end up.
I was glad to see my Maryland boys do pretty well. Juan Dixon went to the Wizards [...]

Da-Da-Dee

Asher is saying something that could be construed as Daddy. It’s actually more of a Da-Da-Da, or Da-Da-Dee but I’ll take what I can get.

Note to the Subway staff

Dear Sandwich Artists, leaving on the little plastic gloves you put on to make my sandwich while you use the cash register, handle money, and hand it back and forth to customers largely defeats the purpose of wearing the gloves.

Rub-a-dub-dub

Asher and Keegan get to sit up in the bathtub now. Lots of fun. Only, we found it doesn’t seem to settle them down for bed quite as well…they were all worked up from playing in the bath last night!

RE: Spiderman, Spiderman

I loved it. Was not dissapointed at all. There’s a few things I think could have been handled better plot-wise, but they were really minor. They didn’t quite capture Spidey’s sense of humor, and the web-slinging-as-genetic-mutation switcheroo was a definite mistake. In fact, the change to the basic setup of his [...]

Vote of confidence

A woman who worked at our office for the past several years, but quit recently came by to visit friends at the office today. She saw me and said, “Greg, I have a completely new found appreciation for you. You have no idea. The computer guys at my new office are completely [...]

Spiderman, Spiderman

I’m finally getting to go see Spiderman this afternoon. I’m excited. I’ve been really looking forward to this movie, but movies don’t really fit in our schedule lately…so I’ve had to be patient. Spiderman was one of the few comic books I bought regularly when I was young, and I was a [...]

Father’s Day

I got my Father’s Day present a little early. Kt took the boys out yesterday and surprised me with some new portraits. Here’s cutest one. She also got a good one of her with the boys — but for some reason she didn’t scan that one yet.
Yes, they really are standing [...]

RE: Dentist

The trip to the dentist could have been worse. Much numbness and four new fillings later, I’m only a little sore and sensitive to cold. I have to go back for a crown in a couple of weeks, however.

100th music review

My buddy Jim sent me a new review to post on UNo MAS…and in the process of posting it, I realized it was music review #100 on the site. Neat! Jim and I have largely moved on to other things, and don’t add much to the site anymore, but it’s still alive and [...]

Cool uses for a CMS

Clark Venable wrote an excellent description of how he uses Conversant ( with a little custom development work ) to manage information for the Anesthesiology Department at the Penn State Medical School. Neat!

Dentist

Off to the dentist this afternoon. I had my teeth cleaned a couple of weeks ago, and now it’s time to get some real work done. I actually have dental insurance now, thankfully, so I figured I should get the trouble spots fixed before they deteriorate too much.
I expect I won’t be a [...]
