Mom and Dad on the Tonight Show

One year

Today’s the day. One year. Keegan walked last night, I guess just so he could say he did before his 1st birthday. He’s been real close, and would take the odd unsupported step here and there, but last night he took the plunge and took a good 4-5 steps across from the [...]

Seven years

It’s a little difficult to have one’s important family events all lumped together and adequately recognize each of them…but in addition to tomorrow being the boys 1st birthday, yesterday was Kt and my seventh anniversary. Kt’s the best thing that even happened to me…love you, sweetie!

Birthday party

Saturday was Asher and Keegan’s first birthday party. No time to post all the details, and I’m sure we’ll have some photos to post soon, but it was awesome. Lots of fun for everyone, especially the boys, and they held up great to all the extra activity and excitement. Highlights:

Great “Thing 1″ [...]

RE: Yikes!

I really don’t want to know about every detail of the snipers lives. I’m not interested. I guess everyone else is, because that’s all the news is talking about. It seems that we find some comfort from having everyone who knew a wacko come forward after the fact and say, “Yea, they [...]

Macro Caching in Conversant

Seth added support for macro caching in Conversant. I meant to post about it at the time, but wanted to have something setup on this site that specifically demonstrated the speed benefits…but, time has not permitted of late. Let’s just say it’s laid the groundwork for a lot of speed ups in Conversant [...]

OpenNMS for Mac OS X

Jim has just announced that his employer, Tyrell Systems, has release an enhanced version of OpenNMS for Mac OS X. I’d not been previously familiar with OpenNMS, but reading up on the docs, I ‘m sure I’ll be installing their version and trying it out on our network at work. Sounds like an [...]

MICROSOFT_BRAIN_DAMAGE

I was working on compiling UW IMAP on Mac OS X 10.2 today. UW IMAP doesn’t have a config file, so you have to do all the config in the source before compiling. It seems that there’s a bad bug in Outlook with IMAP that creates a situation that more or less locks [...]

RE: Yikes!

Thankfully, it appears the snipers have been caught. I wonder if, in the end, they will be any explaination of why they choose my old neighborhood to beseige.

AFP548.com

Didn’t know about AFP548 before. Lots of good info for Mac administrators.

RE: Yikes!

The sniper is back in my old neighborhood. I feel for all my friends and family in that area…while the odds are still in your favor, the sheer randomness of it must make it very scary to conduct your day to day business. Hope they are able to make some progress in the [...]

Will have to make one of these with the boys when they’re a little older.

RE: Sick, again

Well, I thought I was getting over what I had last week — some kind of flu-thing — but now I have strep. Kt has a cold that has been getting worse over the weekend, and is giving her a nasty cough. Now Keegan also seems to have the cold, I’m sure Asher’s [...]

Only in Texas…

I’m sure all of you around this great nation are enjoying seeing the lawns of America riddled with campaign signs…but how many of you can say that a local Democratic candidate has a gun on their campaign signs! Well, Texas gubenatorial candidate Tony Sanchez does. Good thing he’s not running in Maryland.
