Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. We’ll be spending the day with Kt’s folks and various family…and I expect the food and company will be good as usual. Mostly, I look forward to four days off in a row to spend with Kt and the boys. Kt, I expect, mostly looks [...]

Members list

I just deleted a ton of members from this site. My member list was getting pretty long, especially with names that have never posted and probably have not been back to this site in ages. Basically, if I don’t know who you are, I deleted your membership. If this effects anyone who [...]

Woody’s World of Penis Euphemism

I suppose someone had to put together a list like this eventually. I particular liked “Hanging Chad” and “Pimp cane”.

So long, Frontier

I’ve been a long time user of Userland Frontier. I will continue to be a user of it for a long time, but come Friday my last subscription to the software will expire and I will not be renewing. This site, and most others I do, run in Conversant — which runs on [...]

Redmonk revisited

Steve Ivy has redesigned and refocused Redmonk.net from just his personal weblog to a front for his consulting business. Very nice design, Steve!

Use the force, Think!

Watched Star Wars: Episode II this weekend. What a waste of celluloid. Or pixels, I guess — it was shot all digital. I didn’t like Episode I at all, but I thought this couldn’t be any worse. It was! I don’t know what’s going on in Lucas’s mind. These [...]

Jon Kulp

A friend of mine, and excellent classical guitarist/composer, Jon Kulp, has put a number of his compositions online at MP3.com. Take a listen…it’s beautiful music.

Weblog II

Amongst the things I’ve been missing out on this week, is the beta testing of Conversant’s new Weblog plugin, which Seth has been crafting into an extremely feature-rich, best-of-class application. Look forward to running it through the paces in the coming weeks. Keep it up, Seth!

RE: Back to School

Well, the week in class is wrapped up. I feel really out of the loop having been without the Internet all day everyday. I’ve been on and reading mail at night, but I don’t have much time for it then.
Overall, the class wasn’t spectacular, but well worth it. It was a good [...]

RE: Back to School

Two days of class, and starting to get into some interesting things. Not going to be a mind blower, but I feel my Java essentials are refreshed and I look forward to getting into the actual APIs over the next three days. It’s also been fun to catch up with Sean.
It’s weird, however, [...]

Babies -> Kids

I’ve been working on moving our existing babies website over from a Manila-based site to a Conversant-based site. I partially automated this moving all the content over via XML-RPC, but I still needed to do a lot of editing to attach custom-field values and such in the Conversant site. Still a ways to [...]

NetNewsWire on The Screen Savers

Ranchero Software’s NetNewsWire, a favorite app of mine these days, was featured as the Download of the Day on TechTV’s “The Screen Savers” last night. Neat. I generally watch a few minutes of The Screen Savers repeat broadcast between Blue’s Clues and breakfast in the morning.
