Adios, f**ker
Well…the rat that has been tormenting us in our house for the past couple of months is no more. We’ve had exterminators out…and have poison all over the attic and bait traps outside and in the garage, and we have glue traps all over the kitchen and garage, but just haven’t been able to catch/kill the damn thing. It’s gotten in our food numerous times. Left poop all over in closets and such — and worst of all, we hear it gnawing away in the attic at night, tauting us.
About 15 minutes ago…Kt went into the kitchen to check on the noise the dogs were making, and there they were, hovered over the rat…which I guess was dumb enough to venture out across the room while they were around.
The rat looked dead. We put a box over it…but it seems it was only playing dead. I’d say it was about 6-7″ long in the body…and easily had a 8″ tail. Yuck. After much hestitation, I transferred it to the deep trash can and took it outside. I’m not a killer, so I had to warm up to it a little, but I finally did him in with the Mutt ( a multi-purpose floor scraper, root chopper tool on a shovel handle ) and put the piece out for the trashmen tomorrow.
Glad that’s over. I only hope he doesn’t have any friends.
