iMac back
Kt’s iMac is now back in my possession, with a new hard drive. I hope this fixes the performance issue, but I’m pretty sure it will based on benchmarks. If it ain’t the drive, then it’s the drive controller or something, and I don’t really want to think about that.
The repair guys’ diagnostics didn’t show anything, but he took my word for it that the drive was the likely culprit — which I thought was pretty nice. I think technology repair people deal with people who seem to know what they are talking about so rarely that when they do, they’re prone to do nice things for them…of course, the guys at 7-11 always give me a break on my coffee and big gulps, so maybe it’s just me.
