Standing water
In Texas, it’s important not to leave standing water around in containers in your yard. The mosquitos will still get you, but it helps to minimize their breeding opportunities. Of course, the government doesn’t go around kicking over your buckets for you, and they don’t ticket you if don’t do it yourself…after all, it’s possible you have a valid reason for leaving water in the bucket. They do, however, try to remind you it’s a not a good idea. Looks like that’s what the FTC is going to start doing. It’s a good idea…but, frankly, at this point, I think it’s time for the DDT.
