AppRocket
CandyLabs is currently demonstrating how to tick off potential customers. They ended the beta period on AppRocket, without having a final release or new beta ready.
I had already come to rely on this app, and organized my windows laptop around it…and was ready to register it as soon as it went final. Now, I’m stuck doing without it for an indeterminate period of time.

Does anyone have the installer for 1.0 Beta2? Mine is version 0.90. BTW I find that if I change my date to 10/15/03, then run approcket, then change it back to todays date, it runs fine. May buy some time until the new version comes out.

Having used approcket prior to expiring, I too know that it is a great and very useful program. I have contacted the company, and have learned that they are obviously concerned about detail, which not many software engineers can say.
With respect to the release problem: They are a brand new company. From what I have been told, they have been experiencing external problems with setting up accounts for purchasing the program.
I think this will be a one time problem, and once the company overcomes these banking issues we should not have any problems with any of their future software.
I intend to support the company and look forward to seeing what they come up with next. From what I understand, approcket will be good to purchase by the end of Feb 04, and I have anxiously been awaiting the release.

I got a nice note from one of the developers of AppRocket today, informing me that they finally had the issues with the delayed release I’d mentioned before worked out and hoping I’d give the final release a try.
Nice of them to follow up…in fact, I had subscribed to their RSS feed and already had it downloaded and installed. They have done a faithful job of reproducing Launchbar on Windows…I’ll be using it a lot.
I guess being the 4th hit on Google for “AppRocket” led them my way.
