The poor corner store

The Lone Star Country Corner convenience store next to where I work has had a tough week. I work in the boonies…there’s not much out here except us and the corner store (which also has a feed store attached to it).

Over the weekend, a young girl who had just gotten her driver’s license apparently got her pedals confused and ended up parking in the store. Took out a section of the glass and their second register.

Then last night sometime after close in the early AM, someone drove into to the store (in a different spot) in a burglary attempt…this time trying to steal the small ATM machine inside the store. They failed because it was bolted to the floor.

They’ve managed to get all boarded up and are open for business, but it looks like more like they are preparing for a hurricane! Luckily no one was hurt in either of these incidents.
