Entertainment Center
The biggest project I’ve been working on at the new house is a built-in entertainment center. Just got it stained and poly’d in time for x-mas so it could all be assembled. It still looks a little boring, since most of the character will be in the doors — which are not yet done — but I’m pretty proud of the craftsmanship. Solid oak facing, oak veneer on the inside. It will eventually have mission-style doors on the bottom and top, with the big top doors being pocket doors that slide back into it.
Hard to tell from the picture, but the miters are all really tight, and there’s no expose fasteners (nails/screws) to be seen. I borrowed a plate joiner from Kt’s brother — I’m going to have to get one, it’s awesome to work with.
