Now I’m dangerous
After cleaning up my desk last night, I decided it was time to hook my Tascam US-428 MIDI/Audio interface back up to the G5. Thanks to GarageRemote I now have it working as a control surface for GarageBand…using the following settings:
- Return to start- BF 18 7F F7
- Rewind- BF 60 7F F7
- Play- BF 16 7F F7
- Fast Forward- BF 60 01 F7
- Cycle Mode- BF 19 7F F7
- Record- BF 17 7F F7
Of course, after I did all this, it was about 10pm. I still spent 10 minutes recording for the fun of it. Here the result. The drums are a loop, two guitars and a “vocal”.

Whee! Fun stuff. I especially liked the "vocal" — cool effect.
It’s on my iTunes at work now, so your musical meme will slowly spread throughout campus from here…

P.S. Through the web interface, using Firefox 1.0.4 on Windows, your sidebar covers part of the text of this message at http://greg.turtleprod.com/fullThread$msgNum=2372

I think the problem is the reply form at the bottom of the page. It’s
forcing the main body column to a certain minimum width.
Greg, I think if you put a
style="width: 100%;"in thebody’s textarea, it will carry through to the WYSIWYG editor (for
anyone that’s using it), and then the page should resize more smoothly
for everyone.
