iPhone lines
We drove by the local AT&T on the way out to dinner last night. There were already 5 or 6 avid campers lined up on the sidewalk. Ah, to be young. Did that for concert tickets a few times, I guess. Once for a huge sale at a music store. [...]

PMC Software Auction
Seth’s charity software auction is exploding this year. Tons of great stuff, proceeds going to fight cancer — can’t beat that. I mean, when you donate to charity, who really wants a tote bag. But Mac productivity applications? Sweet!

New look
Installed a new look for the blog today. Nothing fancy…in fact, pretty stripped down. I’m debating a new look/CMS for my business site — debating Wordpress vs. Mephisto. I could pretty easily do what I need with either, but I want to incorporate a blog directed toward my clients, so I need [...]

Lone Star RubyConf
I just registered for Lone Star RubyConf in September. Not quite the spectacular that RailsConf was, but I bet it will be a good focused 2 days of learning and networking. Plus, I can crash at Sean’s.

Feedburner swap
Following Sean’s lead, I finally switched my RSS feed over to Feedburner. So update your RSS links to point to: http://feeds.feedburner.com/agiletortoise — if you partake in such things.

Equalize your cheese
Having now viewed disk 1 of season 1 of Land of the Lost, I truly realize that it’s important to equalize your cheese. If your content is cheesy, your introduction to it should be as well.
The modern, relatively slick, DVD menus — while not extreme — are overdone and only generate a let down [...]

Goplan
I’m starting to get back to work a little bit at a time after sequestering for some quality family time with the new baby. In an effort to get back on a solid footing with my never ending venture for personal organization and productivity, I’m giving Goplan a shot.
I’ve used Tracks, Kinkless GTD, Remember [...]

Servoy snippet: form_exists, form_method_exists
Here's a couple of useful Servoy methods I've been using...
To test for the existence of a form, use the following in a method (mine is in a mod_at module and named 'mod_at_form_exists'):
PLAIN TEXT
JavaScript:
eval('forms.'+arguments[0]);
return forms[arguments[0]] ? true : false;
Note the "eval" call ensures that the form has been loaded.
To test for the existence of a [...]

Reproducing your childhood
The persistence and availability of media creates interesting challenges for today's parent. Yes, you've got to ask interesting questions about yourself, your parenting style and your goals for your children when you find yourself considering adding the entire first season of Land of the Lost to your NetFlix queue.
Such is the position I found [...]
