New grill

I bought a new Ducane Stainless Grill today at Home Depot. The old grill more or less disintegrated, so it was necessary. I decided to get one that would last this time around. This is about the least expensive one you can buy that really well constructed out of exclusively decent grade [...]

Servoy 3.5

Servoy has released version 3.5. This is a great release, with dramatic improvements in many areas. Looking forward to even greater things in v4.0. There’s really moving along making Servoy a powerful and easy to use RAD tool.

World’s cutest baby

I’ve resisted declaring Leo the world’s cutest baby for fear of being derided as a familial demagogue. Sure, there are lots of other really cute babies around, but, now at least I can come forth and support my argument with some serious physical proof.

214 validation errors

HTML isn’t really very hard, as programming-type things go. The specs are well documented. Many, easy to use validators are easily accessible to check your work. Microsoft’s disconnect with this is still painfully profound.

Noble creatures

The Gourds are back with a new record and fancy new website. I’m a sucker for their obtuse mashup of traditional American music and obtuse lyrics. You gotta love a record that starts out: “Jammin’ on the old cartoons with the swagger of the immune, Sleeping like a fat racoon - diabetic on [...]

How _not_ to create sales orders in AX from VB

Microsoft has published a wonderful how-to on using the Dynamics AX Business Connector to create sales orders from VB. Only, I feel sorry for you trying to maintain this code if you do it the way they recommend!
It’ll work, yes…but, it’s extremely verbose. Individually setting field values across the .NET/COM connector is a [...]

iPhone, hands on

I got hands on with an iPhone for awhile at a 4th of July party yesterday. Very impressive. The UI is downright cool. Little things like the magnifying glass over text when you’re making selections, etc. are great. EDGE was very slow where I was at…probably still fine for email, but [...]
