214 validation errors

HTML isn’t really very hard, as programming-type things go. The specs are well documented. Many, easy to use validators are easily accessible to check your work. Microsoft’s disconnect with this is still painfully profound.

It’s incredibly dissapointing that a stock theme for Sharepoint that’s implemented on an internal corporate intranet I’m using has 214 validation errors on a relatively blank logged out home page. Ug.

Sharepoint’s a powerful and interesting product which is not well understood due to the marketspeak around it, but, it just doesn’t make sense that a huge web app like that wouldn’t care about standards. But it makes a developer like me that cares about standards run screaming.
