Darn

Chris Wilcox has put himself on the NBA draft list. No big surprise…if you are pretty much guaranteed a top 10 pick, it’s hard not to go, but I would have liked to see him play another year at Maryland. That leaves the Terps with only one returning starter…but they should still be [...]

43 of 44?

I guess there’s a lot of things I don’t understand about NASCAR. The big Samsung/Radio Shack 500 Winston Cup race is this weekend at the Texas Motor Speedway about 15 miles from my house. Around 250,000 people are expected to attend the weekend-long extravaganza.
I was reading the special section in the paper about [...]

Terps Win

YEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!

We’re in the Finals!

Go Terps! For the first time ever, my Terps are in the finals of the NCAA tournament! They beat Kansas tonight in the Final Four to move on to Monday’s championship game….against Indiana, who beat Oklahoma earlier. Go Terps!
This was a typical Terps game, blowing a big lead and making me bite [...]

Arkansas steps up

Interesting statements from the University of Arkansas’s chancellor. I gotta agree with him, a 0% graduation rate for basketball players is pretty pathetic.

Go Terps!

My Terps survived to play next week in the Final Four. Wasn’t easy, but they made it. Go Terps!

RE: NCAA notes

Sunday’s second round games were a lot more fun than Friday’s games. The Texas fan’s were out in force, and the Longhorn’s dominated in the 1st half of their game against MS State, but State worked their way back into it in the 2nd half and made it a bit of a nailbiter. [...]

NCAA notes

We went to the first round games of the NCAA tournament in Dallas yesterday. It would have been a bit much to leave the babies all day, so we only went to the two games in the afternoon, and sold our tickets to the evening session. We saw Oklahoma (2) vs. UIC (15), [...]

Hilltoppers

I never attended the University of Maryland. I am a Terps fan largely due to proximity growing up, and because of the friends I had when I really started to become a fan of college basketball in my 20s — most of whom where MD grads. That, and I really like Coach Gary [...]

Tourney time!

Can’t wait for Friday. Kt and I will be going to our first NCAA tournament games. We’ll see Oklahoma vs. Illinois/Chicago and Xavier vs. Hawaii on Friday afternoon. There’s two sessions on Friday, but we’re selling our tickets to the evening session, it’s a little too long to be gone for both, [...]

ACC Tournament

The Terps were upset today by NC State. Dissapointing…but they deserved to lose. NC State played a spectacular game, with big outings by both senior guard Anthony Grundy ( who I’ve always liked ) and their Freshmen starters. The Terps didn’t seems to be clicking as a team like usual.
I don’t get [...]

ACC tournament

The Terps easily handled Florida State in their ACC tournament opener. Onward.

RIP, Cole Field House

The Maryland Terps played their last game in Cole Field House yesterday ( They won big, of course ). Cole’s got a great legacy, and will be missed. I’m sure their new arena will be a nicer place to go see a game in many ways, but it won’t ever have that same [...]

Duke vs. Virginia

Virginia knocked off Duke with an incredible 21-1 run in the second half. Not sure what happened to the Dukeys, but they were flat — especially Jason Williams. Normally, I wouldn’t have mentioned this game, except I just had to quote Duke’s Couch K…this is one of the funnier sports gibberish quotes I’ve [...]

USA vs. Canada

Jim’s really ecstatic about Canada’s hockey gold. I’m happy for him. I’m happy for Canada…they deserve it.
