MD vs. Wake Forest
The Terps survived a close one yesterday. Never a dull moment in the ACC. I was watching the Kansas game late in the day and thought we might actually have a shot at a #1 ranking, but the Jayhawks managed to leave Nebraska with a W. Oh well.
Almost tourney time, I’m [...]

Sarah Hughes == Michelle the Band Geek
Kt and I were watching the evening wrap-up on NBC’s Olympics coverage the other night, and Bob Costas and Jim McKay were interviewing Sarah Hughes, the figure skating gold medalist. We were both struck by exactly the same thing — this girl is Michelle, the band geek, from American Pie!
There’s only a minimal physical [...]

MD vs Clemson
Didn’t get to see the Terps game last night ( wasn’t on TV here ). They had a slow start but came on in the second half to beat Clemson. The win over Duke, immediately followed by the loss of Coach Williams’ Father made the team a bit off, so it’s no surprise [...]

RE: Delay of game
Yeah! Go Terps! MD beats Duke. I got a feeling they’re going to get the shaft in the voting and Kansas is going to get the #1 spot that the Terps deserve — but, that’s not what really matters. What a big W.

Delay of game
Kt had a party to go to with the babies this afternoon. I agreed not to watch the big game until she came back. It’s killing me not to know how it came out — but, just the same, I really want to watch it w/o knowing, so I’m being good. If [...]

RE: The big game
The big game part II is Sunday at 1 EST. MD vs. Duke…at Maryland this time. This game will likely decide the ACC regular season title, as both MD and Duke each have only one conference loss. It’s a big one. Go Terps!

MD vs. Virginia
I didn’t think the Terps where going to pull it out tonight against #5 Virginia, but they did, in style — with a 13-2 run to end the game. Also of note, they were perfect from the free throw line as a team until one miss in the final seconds. Go Terps! (PS [...]

NCAA tickets
Whohoo! Our tickets to the March 15 & 17 Western bracket NCAA tournament games at the American Airlines Center in Dallas arrived in the mail today! Never been to an NCAA tourney before…it’s not the Final Four, but it’ll be a lot of fun anyway.

Go Tech!
I’ve always been a Bobby Knight fan. Regardless of what you think of his off and on-court antics, he’s just one of the greatest coaches ever — in any sport. He proving that this year — his first year at Texas Tech. The Red Raiders cracked the Top 25 this week, at [...]

Terps lose
Well, the big game didn’t turn out the way I had hoped. Oh well, maybe next time…it was a good game though.

MD vs. Duke
The big game is Thursday, at Duke. Both the Terps and Duke won ACC matchups yesterday…and the game Thursday made the Men’s Basketball homepage ESPN today. It’s #1 vs. #3. Should be a good game.
Kt and I get a bit excited when our teams meet, but we’re usually pretty civil about it.

Terps roll over Tarheels
It’s hard to gloat tooooo much over MD’s victory over the UNC Tarheels last night, seeing as UNC is having such a rough year — but still, if you know the history between the teams, it’s still worthy of mention. The Terps’ 112 total points is the most point UNC has ever allowed. [...]

Duke’s first loss
Duke had it’s first loss of the season yesterday. Mainly due to poor free-throw shooting down the stretch…uncharacteristic of the team, to say the least.
Coach K ( Duke’s coach ) has a wonderful way of overstating things, however. In the middle of that article, “We have a lot of work to do before [...]

Terps #2, Watch out Duke
My Terps climbed #2 in the polls this week, right behind Duke, on a strong win over Illinois ( previously ranked #2 ).
Mark your calendars…1/17 & 2/17. Those are the two Maryland - Duke games in regular season ACC play.
