MPFreaker and AudioFaucet

MPFreaker (Mac only) is a way cool app that searches a variety of Internet sources to locate the correct information and artwork for the songs in your MP3 collection, then updates the tags with that info. Sweet.

Also, the beta of AudioFaucet is finally out. It’s a renamed and updated version of iSeeiTunes, which [...]

TiVo and Tiger

I’m sure TiVo will have out a compatibility release of the TiVo Desktop soon, but in the meantime, these instructions worked for me to get v1.9.1 to run under Tiger.

TiVo and Comcast

Wow! Some good news for my TiVo stock. I’m not entirely sure it’s really great news for TiVo. Despite 2/3rds of their subscribers coming via DirecTV, only 10% of their revenues do, and I expect that Comcast negotiated similar if not better terms for their deal. At least is sounds like [...]

Home network

I went to hook up the free TiVo last week and discovered two things. First, you have to do the initial setup of the TiVo via a phone line. That’s kinda lame, to my mind…since as soon as you finish that, you can switch it over to the broadband connection. The setup [...]

Wonder if I was #3 million

We received our free TiVo yesterday and I set it up last night. I wonder if I was subscriber number 3 million.

TiVo’s Super Bowl stats

PVRBlog points to TiVo’s Super Bowl stats. Very cool visual representation. I was amongst those a little behind live — since we paused the game for dinner.

Who will buy Tivo for scrap?

Speculation on a TiVo buyout. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised to see a buyout in the near future, with the stock dipping as low as it is. It’s a valuable brand in a growing space. TiVo been coming out with a lot of great new things for the geeks, like the [...]

The second TiVo is on the way

Thanks to the TiVo Rewards program a new 140 hour TiVo is now on the way to us. It’s our second and will be hooked up in the bedroom. With multi-room viewing, we can now TiVo something different than we are watching, or TiVo two things at once — which is our current [...]

TiVo Ads

TiVo’s new advertising strategy seems to be upsetting some people.

Must admit, it doesn’t bother me. Maybe I’m substantially googlized to the point that I think it’s pretty normal to find advertising banners everywhere I look, don’t know. Notice both of those people complaining about it have google banner ads on their websites.

I think [...]

Internet Radio via TiVo

Cool TiVo tip from Steve Ivy. I didn’t realize I could do that!

TiVO Rewards

I just signed up for a TiVO Rewards card. I should have a free TiVO for the bedroom before you know it!

TiVO and Netflix?

If this is true, it’s very interesting.

Please buy a TiVO

It’s a great product. Prices have come down on the units and service. Much better than other hard disk recorders. Plus, I own stock and I’m sick of seeing it tank. ;-)

The TV

It seems that I may be the only one around our house who doesn’t think we need a bigger TV right now. Which, I guess is odd. Isn’t it usually the “dad” that wants to buy those new toys? Katie came home from looking at some open houses in the neighborhood yesterday and [...]
