Leo movie, iLife ‘08 impressions
As the rest of the family is off at a birthday party for a few hours, I had a chance to play with new iLife some. The result is a simple photo movie of Leo.
I’m probably missing a few things about how the new iMovie is suppose to work, but wow it is a [...]

New grill
I bought a new Ducane Stainless Grill today at Home Depot. The old grill more or less disintegrated, so it was necessary. I decided to get one that would last this time around. This is about the least expensive one you can buy that really well constructed out of exclusively decent grade [...]

World’s cutest baby
I’ve resisted declaring Leo the world’s cutest baby for fear of being derided as a familial demagogue. Sure, there are lots of other really cute babies around, but, now at least I can come forth and support my argument with some serious physical proof.

J. Robbins update
I posted last year about an old friend in need. Their plight, and the overwhelming response they’ve received got some coverage on All Things Considered this week.
It’s a sad situation, but it certainly sounds like they’re making the best of the time they have.

Still waiting on little bean
For those following these matters, tomorrow will be day 1 of week 41. Still no sign of Little Bean. Katie’s holding up surprising well, and it’s amazing at times like these how many people pull stories out of the woodwork about who went 1, 2 — or, yes, up to FOUR! — weeks [...]

I’m now the proud owner of a new 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Rescue Green. Just like I wanted. It’s a lot of fun to drive.

Hail
We just had a nasty hailstorm sweep through. Baseball size. The biggest I’ve seen in my years in Texas. I can’t tell if it did any serious damage to the house yet, but it definitely dinged up the cars pretty good.
It was quite incredible to watch. The balls of hail bounced [...]

Big time
It was a difficult decision to leave my job of 11 years last Fall. I had wanted to for a long time, and was confident that I’d do well on my own — but, still, I had all the usual fears as the primary breadwinner and all. Luckily, I can report everything’s going [...]

Sinusitis…
Of the acute variety, has been bringing me down for about a week and a half. Finally got in to the doctor on Tuesday and I think the anti-biotic is starting to do it’s work, but man, what a drag. Makes it difficult to concentrate and I seem to need to concentrate a [...]

Mikeronaut
My old friend Mike Leach is finally joining the blogging world, to record his experiences touring with Sean Lennon in Europe. Mike’s a sound engineer, and he’ll be running the boards. Mike was the drummer in my high school band, amongst other notable accomplishments.

First day in the new office
As we prepare for #3 around the homefront, we’ve been rearranging a bit. Old playroom is becoming the home office, and today was my first working day in the new office. It’s far from all put together, but it’s going to be a big improvement.
My old desk was a door on two homemade [...]

Deficit thinking
Sound advice for the New Year. Going “independent” with my career has made me more and more aware of how often I let myself toil over others’ often vacant appraisals of my “gaps” and needless it was/is to do so. I’m still finding my footing in my new environment, but the future’s [...]
